‘I feel like I’m one of the most dangerous guys in the division’ – Belal Muhammad speaks out ahead of his fight against Leon Edwards
The two welterweights clash in a high-voltage clash in the main event of UFC Vegas 21.
UFC Vegas 21 is just a couple of days away. It is headlined by Leon Edwards vs Belal Muhammad. The match marks the return of Leon Edwards who last fought, way back in July 2019. His opponent – Belal Muhammad, who stepped in short notice after Leon Edwards vs Khamzat Chimaev was scrapped for the third time.
In a recent promo released by the UFC, Belal Muhammad speaks about how people will soon start paying attention to his name, as he feels he is one of the most dangerous guys in the welterweight division. He has a long term vision of leaving his legacy – and hence the nickname ‘remember the name’.
‘That’s what I was put on this Earth for’
Belal Muhammad can he heard saying, “I go on the UFC to be champion. I know how good I am. I know I belong with these type of guys. That’s why I took this fight to show that there is a new name in the UFC that you’re gotta start paying attention to. God put me here, to be a fighter. That’s what I was put on this Earth for. For me, it is about leaving my legacy, when you here the last name Muhammad, you’re gonna know that this guy was one of the best fighters in the world.“
He continues, “I feel like I’m one of the most dangerous guys in the division, you know what you’re gonna get when you fight me. I can wrestle you, I can strike with you, I can fight anyway I want to. I am a guy that is never gonna say no to a fight. When opportunity knocks you have to keep that door down.“
Belal Muhammad is ranked number 13 in the welterweight division rankings. He is on a four-match win streak, with his last win coming over Dhiego Lima at UFC 258, just a month ago. Belal’s MMA record is an impressive 18-3, which is the same as his opponent Leon Edwards (18-3). However, the only difference is that Leon has never been knocked out in his MMA career, whereas Belal has been knocked out once.
